Crayon Colors
Student Make-A-Book
Directions:
Print the two above envelope patterns. Cut. Trace the top of pattern 1 on the front side of a 9X12" envelope. Place scissors in the side fold and cut down and across the front following the line you traced from the pattern (see pictures above) to cut front of envelope. Trace the top of pattern 2 at the top of the the back side of the envelope now. Cut. Fold envelope to look like a crayon box (as shown above). I have parent volunteers prep the envelopes for me.
Run copies or print the crayon printable on colored construction paper. You will need one crayon of each color for each child's crayon box. The colors are: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, black (Yes- I do copy this on black construction paper and it shows!), and white. The crayon pattern I made is to be folded so that writing can go on the inside.
Print or copy the sentences for the inside.
Have students write the correct color words in each space. I do this in a small group. Cut around sentences and glue inside each crayon.
For the front cover, I cut one 4 1/2" Square of bright green construction paper per child and one 4" dark green construction paper square per child and cut both at a diagnal to decorate so that it looks like a crayon box as shown. I like to type each child's name to make it special.
